Current seasons
Is anyone watching the current season of Doctor Who? What do you think? It seems to me that the storylines are getting ever more complicated and soul-searching. I'm not totally sure that it's right for a show like Doctor Who. Love it, though.

What do you think about Matt Smith? David Tennant's my favourite still. He's a hard act to follow, IMO.

And did anyone watch this last Torchwood? What do you think about that? I watched the whole thing. Hard questions - what does death mean for us, accepting death as a natural and needed consequence, responsibility for the effects of our actions on others, etc. I've got no objection to these issues being raised in shows like this, but it did seem to wallop us over the head with them.

Shocking scenes too. Dr Juarez in the pod. *shudders*

There were bits I loved though. John Barrowman knows just how to touch a naked man. *drools* Gwen's attitude to raising a baby girl. And the very end bit, where Rex is shot. "What did you do to me, World War Two?" *lol*

Maybe it was a bit over-long. I think it could have fitted into 6 episodes neatly without feeling like it was killing time a bit in the middle. Maybe that's the US influence.

I'd really like to know what other people think.

I think Matt Smith has really done a good job of making 11 different from Ten. David's Ten shall always have a place in my heart, my fave doc of all. But from the beginning 11 marches to his own beat, if that makes any sense, lol.

I was one of those who though, oh hell no, can't watch cause he's not the Doctor! But after giving the 5th series a chance I grew to like him. so far from what I've seen of 6 it's been pretty good. A little weird but good.

Can't say the same to TW, cause I don't have to channel it airs on, and I just don't feel like actually sitting down and watching it.
